Back in 2000, I took a course with the Hollywood Scriptwriting Institute, my Instructor, Earl Blakesley, Jr. (China Beach, Love Boat, Tales from the Crypt). I soon began my first script, then outlined a second which I finished two years later. Wrote a 3rd and so forth. Turns out, all were in the Teen Family Genre, course, my kids gave me many of the sparks that grew into tales of teenage drama, combined with my own perspective, which was a comical viewpoint.

Currently, I am in the Proseries 33 class http://screenwritingu.com/)(and graduate in August. I am working on another Teen Family Genre script, and hope to break in with one or all of these high concept marketable screenplays. I’m told the titles tell the whole story, and the elements of each script are very good. And so, I work very hard at my new sales job at a Mortuary and Cemetary Park selling Funeral Plans and Cemetary Plots, Niches, Crypts, Mauseleums, etc., which gives me the flexibility to write and put food on the table, right alongside my padfolio of notes and laptop. Yes, I eat and work at the same time. No time to lose. When I’m not enjoying the ocean or the mountains, I’m at my laptop.

I feel elevating my writing involves living life doing things I enjoy or learning new things, as well as learning new techniques to write better characters, scenes, dialogue, etc.

So stay tuned for more advenures….to be continued.
